Low Latency Raw Shreds

Low latency raw shreds

Raw shreds leave the leader and reach your box in microseconds, exactly as they came off the wire. Bring your own port and we forward straight to your origin IP, with no proxy to deploy and no queue in between.

  • Raw and undecoded, as broadcast
  • Forwarded straight to your origin IP
  • No shredstream-proxy to run
  • Ahead of any block subscription

01

Shreds before the block exists

A block is assembled from shreds. If you wait for the block you are waiting for reassembly you could have skipped. Taking the shred stream directly puts you ahead of anything reading finalised blocks, which is the entire point for trading and validator workloads.

02

No proxy in your path

You give us an origin IP and a port. We forward to it. There is no shredstream-proxy to run, keep alive, or patch, and nothing of ours sits between the leader and your process. If you do not already have a machine close enough for that to be worth it, we recommend Dedicated Nodes, bare metal in the same facilities we stream from.

03

Where the numbers come from

82µs p50 at 1.2 Gbps. Latency at this scale is dominated by physical distance, so the figure only holds because the hardware is co-located with the validators rather than sitting in a general-purpose cloud pool.

Frequently asked

What is Solana ShredStream?

Shreds are the fragments a leader broadcasts over Solana's Turbine layer before a block is assembled. A shred stream forwards those fragments to you directly, so you see transaction data earlier than any consumer waiting on completed blocks.

Do I need to run shredstream-proxy?

No. We forward to an origin IP and port that you supply, so there is no proxy for you to deploy or maintain.

What is the difference between raw and decoded shreds?

Raw shreds are the wire fragments and you deserialise them yourself. Decoded shreds arrive already parsed into transaction and entry updates. If you want the decoded form over a gRPC client, see our decoded shreds product.

What do I need to provide?

An origin IP and a port to receive on. Shred access covers one origin IP.
